The Zentralredaktion (Central Editorial Office) is the contact point for participants and other interested people from all over the world. It is available for advice or anything else related to music sources. The office primarily provides support to working groups by making available technical and subject-specific help for tools such as the cataloguing program Kallisto and the use of the data server, guidelines for documenting music sources, the online catalogue, and more.
The Zentralredaktion provides opportunities for working groups to acquire basic knowledge of the cataloguing program and how to describe music sources, and conducts workshops dealing with specific topics. In its editorial capacity, it is responsible for standardising data, in particular matters relating to authority control. In addition, it represents the project publicly.
The Zentralredaktion cooperates with the Bavarian State Library (Bayerische Staatsbibliothek) and the State Library of Berlin (Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin) to operate the data server and the online catalogue.
