I am currently working on completing the survey of sources (manuscripts and prints) from the Cistercian convent Medingen, one of the Lüneburg convents, cf. http://research.ncl.ac.uk/medingen. I would like to use the RISM sigla to achieve consistency, especially since the majority of the sources contain some form of musical notation. However, there are a couple of libraries which not as yet have got a RISM-sigla. Could I suggest sigla to be used for a) Keble College Oxford: GB-Ok b) Guildhall Library London: GB-Lgh |

Might I suggest two unrelated sets of library additions/changes: U.S., Cambridge, MA. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Special Collections -- US-CAmits ? (since CAmit is the music library; special collections has a 14th c. antiphoner fragment used as a binding, along with some later manuscripts.) Italy, Grottaferrata -- there are two libraries there that are being conflated into one. The one listed as Badia Greca di S. Nilo (Monumento Nazionale), Biblioteca is now called Biblioteca Statale del Monumento Nazionale (http://www.bibliotechepubblichestatali.it/genera.jsp?id=146) while the modern day monastic library is Badia Greca di S. Nilo, Biblioteca della comunità monastica. All the important manuscripts in RISM are in the former. The confusion comes from the fact that both are in the Greek Abbey. Thanks. Quick guide for the search
- Wildcard-Search
With the help of a so-called wildcard you can look for several search words, which have the same word beginning. If you search e.g. for "Typo*", the search will find everything that begins with "Typo" : Typo3, Typoscript, Typocode, Typo3user... etc.
- Negative search
If you do not want to find certain expressions in your search result, you can cause this with placing a hyphen in front. Terms containing this phrase are excluded from the search result.
- Search for user
It is possible to limit the search result on answers of certain users. In addition to the retrieval query attach still another "user:username" and find the results, which were written by this certain user. If the username could not be found this will be ignored.
